About us

A Collegiate Rowing Program Under LOCR

Portland Collegiate Rowing exists under Lake Oswego Community Rowing (LOCR). We are a combined group of college athletes in the Portland area.

Our mission: Create Lifelong Rowers and offer Portland College students the opportunity to row!

Who are we?

LOCR is a place for everyone, including college students. We want to create a hub for collegiate athletes from all schools in the Portland area to come together and row. Whether you are a part of a university club team, or are an individual looking for a way to stay in shape this year, this program is for you!

Our coaching philosophy is all about being inclusively competitive. For new rowers this means that all rowers, no matter the skill level, are encouraged to get on the race course by the end of their first 3 months of rowing. For our experienced rowers, you are going to be able to race and train in your competitive lineups, but you always need to be open to rowing, both in practice and at regattas, with rowers who are new to the sport. You never know when the novice rower you are helping train might be the athlete who will push you to a new competitive level in the future.
