Welcome to the Loop Abroad Current Student Site!
This site is for participants and their parents to find important details about their programs.
This site is designed to help you prepare for your trip abroad. We ask that you first look up your questions on this site before emailing us. Of course, we are always here to help! But it is very likely that your answers are already provided on this site. It helps us out a lot and we can reply a lot faster to actual questions if everyone first starts their search here on the Current Student Site. You can search this entire site using the magnified glass in the top right corner or by navigating to the page you have questions about (CampDoc, Insurance, etc).
GENERAL INFORMATION: vaccine, CampDoc, credit, insurance, passports, etc. is found at the bottom of this main page.
YOUR PROGRAM INFORMATION: packing list, information on housing, packing list, food, packing list, flight information, did we mention packing list?
Your packing list contains three parts. Required for your program (you have to bring it), suggested for your program (suggested by past students), all programs packing list (like a laptop/tablet, reusable water bottle, toothbrush, etc).
Your flight information. If you are in a group flight program (Thailand, South Africa, Australia, Egypt, Bali) these are posted in January. If you are in a non-group flight program (Costa Rica, Panama, USA), you are welcome to book your flight anytime before April 1 using the directions on your page.
FAQ information on bedding:, towels, laundry, outlets, money, dress code, etc.
Requirements for all programs
You are required to Read "The Plan" fully. It contains important information about logistics, Code of Conduct, and refund policies. Please read it carefully and contact us with any questions.
All students must download WhatsApp before their program begins. Students will have WiFi at the program location but in larger groups can be slow. If you are interested in a travel phone plan, please talk to your phone provider before your program starts.
Important Dates, Deadlines, and Communications
Once a month: You will recieve a monthly newsletter with deadline reminders, new opportunities, etc.
One Week before travel: "Meet Your Group" We will send this out one week before your program start date. It will include a list of names and emails for the other students in your group. Feel free to connect with each other before departure! You can make a Facebook group or text group if you wish, that is completely up to your group. This email will also have a COVID test reminder for what is required for your specific program.
Two days before travel: "Travel Day and Contact Information" This email has a ton of really important information on travel day logistics. This email will include directions on how to meet the airport staff in the US (if you are on a program with a group flight) and what to do when you arrive in your program country. This will include specific directions on where to go once you get off the plane, how to fill out any forms, where the meeting location is, etc. We will include the staff's WhatsApp phone numbers and photos. Emergency contact information will be included, please feel free to share this information with your parents as well.
