Children participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities at the school site. There is a time for active play as well as time to relax, to read, do homework, and participate in quiet activities. All of the children have the opportunity to relax, learn and, grow through their Extended Day experiences like enjoying quiet time with stories, books, songs, tapes, puzzles, manipulative materials and table games as well as increasing their physical well being and coordination through recreation and activities.
Hours of Operation
Our Extended Day Program is located in our cafeteria for morning drop-offs and then in room # P7 for after school.
The Placer Extended Day Program operates Monday through Friday as follows:
Morning Hours: Between the hours of 7:00 am-8:00 am on regular school days.
Afternoon Hours: Between the hours of 2:20 pm-5:30 pm on regular school days and from 11:45 am until 5:30 pm on Minimum Days when school is in session.
Closing time is 5:30 pm at our after school Extended Day program. The school clock will be the designated standard time.
If a child is not picked up within 15 minutes past closing time and we have had no contact from a parent, a responsible party from your emergency list will be contacted to pick up your child. If after Placer Elementary Extended Day Program personnel have exhausted all known means to locate you or a responsible party to come for your child, and no one can be located after 30 minutes has elapsed past LUSD Extended Day closure, Sheriff/Police and child Protective Services will be called for assistance.
If it is determined that the child needs to be taken into protective custody and removed from the center, a law enforcement officer will be contacted. Law enforcement will remove the child and release him/her to CPS for further action. Please help us avoid this action by keeping emergency telephone numbers current.
**IF YOUR CHILD IS PICKED UP LATE 3 TIMES, THEN YOUR CHILD(REN) WILL BE DISENROLLED FROM THE PROGRAM**
Our site will be CLOSED for Staff Development Days, all HOLIDAYS and Summer Break
FEES
Student Extended Day accounts will be billed by the quarter hour at $5.00/hour. Each student in the family will be charged the same fee of $5.00. There will not be additional student discounts offered. $1.00 PER MINUTE will be charged for any late pick-ups after 5:30 pm.
PAYMENTS
Monthly fees are billed at the end of each school month based on hours of use. Monthly fees will be emailed to your primary email listed on the registration form (the contracted parent/guardian). You may pay by cash, check (payable to LUSD) or PayPal link provided with your monthly invoice.
PAYPAL PAYMENTS
You may pay for your child's Extended Day care invoice via PayPal link provided in your monthly invoice.
