Discipline is based on the worth and dignity of each individual. The Extended Day staff members' roles are to provide a strong, nurturing leader helping students grow toward self-discipline and self-direction. (The instructor will establish site rules that follow all school rules, post for parents, and discuss them with the children).
The consistent site guidelines are as follows:
BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
1. If a child does not follow school or site rules, a verbal warning and instructor/child conference will follow.
2. A second infraction of the established guidelines by the same child will be followed immediately by a “time out” for the child.
3. Unacceptable behaviors that are “on-going” will require a conference with the site instructor and parent.
4. Continued unacceptable behavior will lead to a conference with parent, site instructor and Placer Elementary School After School Care Program Manager or designee. A Plan of Assistance will be developed to address behavior issues (see Student Endangerments). Failure to change behavior may result in a program suspension and a review of continued enrollment options.
DANGEROUS
1. If a child demonstrates excessive, dangerous behavior, the parent or emergency contact must be available to pick the child up, immediately.
2. A conference is required prior to the child returning to the program (see Student Endangerment).
Please note the site principal will make all final decisions regarding whether or not to serve children who have been unsuccessful within our LUSD Extended Day Program.
Sexual/violent acts by children resulting in a Plan of Assistance or an Emergency Plan of Assistance, will require an assessment prior to returning to the Placer Extended Day Program site.
Per school policy, students who are suspended from school must refrain from being on campus during the period of suspension. Therefore, a student may not be in attendance at the Place Extended Day Care Program.
