General Policies

  1. Programs are operated by individual schools in the Loomis Union School Districts where there is sufficient interest shown by parents and space is available.

  2. Enrollment is open to all LBCS students enrolled in the Loomis Union School District, provided the program can meet the needs of that child. It has long been the policy of the Loomis Union School District that children with special needs would not be denied Extended Day services unless it was clear that their needs could not be met within the parameters of the program as established. Generally, a trial period is provided to determine whether the Extended Day Program can appropriately and safely meet the needs of the child. Part of our consideration is an evaluation of any placement in the program in terms of other children and staff utilization. Unfortunately, it does occur from time to time that the Extended Day Program is not a good fit for a child. In these circumstances, families will be provided a reasonable amount of time (2 weeks) to find alternative Extended Day services.

  3. The program is open to district students in grades K-8, with priority given to families needing full-time care, daily, Monday through Friday.
