Confidentiality

1. The mentor will not discuss the performance of his/her mentee with anyone, including school and district administrators, with the following exceptions: If the academic growth, social/emotional well-being, or physical safety of students is at risk, and administrator must be notified.
2. The mentor teacher may discuss the new teacher’s performance, with the knowledge and approval of the mentee, with resource professionals to provide opportunities for assistance in areas that need improvement.

No Fault Bail-Out Process

If the mentor and/or mentee deem the relationship incompatible and/or ineffective, the following steps will be implemented:

1. The coordinator will be notified
2. The mentor and the mentee will discuss the relationship with the coordinator
3. If either or both parties indicate(s) in writing to the principal that they wish to terminate the relationship, a new mentor will be assigned.
4. The coordinator will be notified of the termination of the mentor/mentee relationship.
