How many days off aside from vacation do we get?
You get ten sick days (personal or family illness), 2 personal days (be sure to notify your principal at least 24 hrs in advance; you only need permission from the superintendent day is attached to a holiday/vacation), you can donate 1 sick day to sick leave bank to be eligible for use later
What are the requirements for professional development?
There is a district requirement for employment of 2 SAC in 3 years for all (2 15 hour PD courses / 1 30 hour course not counting required PD)
The state requires PDPs for recertification (this only applies if you are currently licensed, not for new teachers)
1 SAC credit is 15 hrs. This is 15 PDPs- you can use it for both requirements
District provided courses are already approved, other courses require pre-approval from Sue Bertrand

What is the local union?
