Roles and Responsibilities of the Beginning and New Teacher :
participate in the Longmeadow Public Schools Orientation Program
be receptive to daily informal support from mentors
meet weekly with mentor teacher / keep an informal log of weekly meetings
accept constructive feedback and to practice reflective teaching
develop and accomplish three specific professional goals (two student and one professional (TeachPoint)
meet and conference monthly with other new teachers
be willing to share and try new ideas
be an active listener
participate in at least 8 hours of classroom observations during the first year and record reflections in a journal (submit a log of hours to mentor coordinator)
