SAMR & 4Cs
SAMR & 4Cs - the why!
Lockhart ISD teachers follow the Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition (SAMR) Model as well as the 4Cs model when developing lessons.
After detailed research, SAMR was selected as the model to follow for the VIP initiative due to its ease of implementation and the specification of what a teacher should keep in mind when designing lessons to include TEKS + Tech = Student Engagement. Some research on this topic:

Utilizing the 4Cs is essential for student success and engagement in both the classroom and the workplace. Having classroom access to technology and the TEKS along with teacher skills, combined with mindful implementation of the use of the 4Cs, leads to 21st Century skills success.
