Studies consistently show that students with access to well-resourced school libraries—staffed by certified librarians—outperform their peers in reading and academic achievement. School libraries aren’t just shelves of books; they also offer multimedia tools and research support, creating a hub for collaboration, creativity, and lifelong learning. Celebrate the hidden superpowers of your school’s library this month!
Mission Statement of Lockhart ISD School Media Centers
The mission of the Lockhart ISD Libraries is to provide a future-ready library media program that will facilitate a collaborative learning space that will enable individuals to become information-literate and effective lifelong readers. Students will actively engage in inquiry and discovery-based projects across curriculums. We aim to provide teachers access to various sources for implementation to enhance curriculum and deliver innovative lessons with the guidance and collaboration of the Library Media Specialist.
As the hub of the school, the Lockhart ISD Libraries will be a welcoming environment for all students, teachers, families, and community members.
