LJHS Library Media Center
The Lockhart Junior High Media Center has one, fully certified Library Media Specialist. The media center currently offers magazines, chrome books, robots, and an online card catalog. The library also features a large MAKER SPACE stocked with materials and devices for individual, collaborative learning and exploring.

I was born and raised right here in Lockhart, Texas. I graduated from Lockhart High School and headed straight to Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State). I graduated with a BA in Elemenatry Education and continued on to earn a Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. After discovering my love for children's literature over the years, I received my School Librarian Cerification from Texas A&M Commerce. I taught at the elementary level for 15 years, then jumped ship to the Junior High School. I was the ELAR/SS Instructional Coach for 5 years and then made the move to Librarian.
I live here in Lockhart with my husband (also born and raised in Lockhart) and my daughter. We have 3 dogs (Tank, Bear, and Rosie Rue), 4 barn cats (Smokey, Sylvester, Corona, and Oddrey), and 8 chickens. We love to play outside, visit family, vacation at the beach and in the mountains, and read, of course!
My passion is reading, and teaching Reading...mostly helping kids realize that choosing a book they can relate to and are interested in is the key to find their love for reading.
