9th Grade Health
Students in 9th grade Health meet 2 classes per 6 day cycle in room 110. Students will be covering the following topics during our instruction:
Mental Health and Stress Relief
Fitness
Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships
Abstinence, Sexual Activity and Decision Making
Sexually Transmitted Infections
Reproduction and Childbirth
21st Century Challenges (Appreciation, Respecting Differences, Cyber bullying, Disordered Eating, Suicide Prevention)
Personal Safety
Use, Abuse and Addiction
9th Grade Physical Education
Students in 9th grade Physical Education will meet 3 classes per 6 day cycle in the gym. Students will be introduced to the following units:
Fitness Certification
Soccer
Handball
Floor Hockey
Swimming (Safety, Floating, Treading, Strokes, Aquatic games, Group Dance, SUP Board, Yoga SUP)
Badminton
Volleyball
Archery
Football
Diamond Games
Tennis
10th Grade Physical Education
Learning Intentions are:
I can work cooperatively with my classmates in a team setting by using communication skills.
I can use decision making skills to identify my preferred leveling for the choice option for the day.
I can advocate for myself during each class period my needs in the class setting by demonstrating good communication skills to my teacher.
I can evaluate goal setting needs for myself and follow the e portfolio steps to evaluate my progress.
I can demonstrate how to evaluate my heart rate during activity and my performance during class.
Students in 10th grade Physical Education will meet 3 classes per 6 day cycle in the gym.
