ManChoir is Murray Avenue School's men's chorus. ManChoir's key purpose is to offer 6th grade male singers a safe space to explore their changing voices in a community of supportive and welcoming singers. ManChoir meets only during WIN once every six school days and does not require an after-school commitment. Singers do not need to audition for ManChoir and ManChoir does not have any performance (although many of the singers in ManChoir perform in our co-curricular choirs: 6th Grade Chorus and 7th & 8th Grade Chorus and also participate in LionVoice. Singers in ManChoir can expect to develop a basic understanding of singing and learn a variety of pop, rock, soul, and MoTown repertoire. ManChoir is an incredibly fun experience and has grown from a small group of about 20 singers to more than 45 singers with a sign-up list that is frequently closed within 24 hours of going public due to high demand. Finally, ManChoir is a very positive place for our middle school boys to bond over music and build community and often results in virtually all ManChoir members joining our co-curricular choirs (if they haven't already!).
