Plans to sustain our program include:
Continuing to prioritize the importance of computer science as a program that is integral to the continuing success of all students at Laurens-Marathon.
Promoting the importance and need for computer science education to all school staff, educational partners, and communities served by Laurens-Marathon.
Continual financial support for Computer Science/STEM at the district level for new programming and replenishing supplies as needed.
Utilization of Charger Pride (local booster organization) for supplemental financial support.
Taking advantage of grant and award opportunities at local, state, and federal levels. Grant examples include local County Foundation Grants, Iowa.gov grant opportunities, and other local opportunities. Award examples include the STEM Scale-Up program, as well as continuing to research how the STEM Best Award could fit into our school district.
Planning and delivering more professional development opportunities for teachers and staff, including individual meetings with the CS teacher regarding implementation of CS in each general classroom.
Utilizing the TLC STEM Lead to promote growth and training in all classrooms.
