Tips for Applying
The goal of an application is to get you to the most important phase of the hiring process: The INTERVIEW!
If you're in need of employment right away, apply for multiple jobs. Most job seekers submit 5 to 8 applications before they get ONE call for an interview.
Be prepared with the information you need. Bring a pocket resume.
Read each question thoroughly.
Use a pen with black or blue ink.
Write neatly.
Be honest.
References can be teachers, counselors, club advisors, coaches, pastors, any adult you’ve helped. It should not be a relative.
Keep track of the job descriptions for jobs you apply for so you can use that information if you're called to interview.
A majority of recruiters (77%) see grammatical mistakes and typos as deal breakers, so proofread or have someone else review your application before you turn it in.
