Teacher Assigned Assessments
Teachers assign missions and gameshows to their class or individuals based on the learning occuring in the classroom. These assigned activities appear on the "Main" page of student's Knowledgehook Accounts. Teachers have control over when to assign these assessments. Data from assigned assessments is used to populate the student reports that can help teachers better understand students strengths and potential next steps.
When students log into Knowledgehook, it looks different than the teacher view. Students see teacher assigned missions and gameshows on the "Main Page". They can freely access practice content in the "Solve" area. Students can access the "Launch" area of the program after school hours for a more gamiefied version of math practice and fun.
Teachers control the missions/gameshows students see on the main page. Teachers can control the grade level of the content on the solve page, but can't control what activities students choose to work on or assign.
Check out the other video to learn how to control the grade level of the solve content area to support students who may need to practice prior grade expectations or extend their exploration into the next grade level.
Teachers can individualize the practice content that students can access and try in the "Solve" area of Knowledgehook. This is helpful when you want to assign options for students across all strands at a lower or higher grade level. As students do well with content, you can continue adjusting the grade level throughout the year. Ex: You have a grade 3 class, but you have students who would benefit from extra practice at a grade 1 level, change the practice content grade to 1.
Students can access the "Solve" area anytime making this a great option for centers, free time, or extra practice at home!
Additional Practice Content - available to all students
Students also have access to the "Solve" area of their Knowledgehook account that lets them try math questions and collect stars. Students have the ability to pick and choose the questions they work on. The data collected from students who practice math skills in this area are not used toward the data and reports teachers can access to support their report writing. Student practice content is set by default at the grade level the course is set up under, however, teachers have the ability to adjust the practice content grade level for students based on individual need. This area of Knowledgehook is open all the time and students can access whatever they would like.
After School Practice Content - available to all students
Students also have access to the "Launch" area of the Knowledgehook account that lets them practice math questions in a gamiefied area. This area is only open outside of school hours. Students can practice math questions, collect coins and manage their avatar using knowledgehook currrency. This area is not used to populate class data and reports.
