The Texas Application for State Federal Aid (TASFA) is for students who are ineligible for federal aid through FAFSA. Students under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy, who are foreign nationals, and/or non-U.S. citizens apply for TASFA.
State funds are available to non-U.S. citizens/students who qualify as Texas Residents. College institutions do not share citizenship status information with other government agencies.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) does not share citizenship status information with other government agencies.
Parents and students must file taxes in order to be eligible for state financial aid.
For the 2021-2022 academic year, you will need the tax information from the income you received in 2020.
