The 100 Scale vs The 4.0 Scale
The 100 Scale vs The 4.0 Scale
In high school, students earn grades based on a 0-100 points scale. At college and the university, the grading scale changes to a 4 point scale. Typically, colleges and universities give the following grades for their courses:
A = 4.0
B = 3.0
C = 2.0
D = 1.0
F = 0
Some colleges and universities allow for the (+) and (-) designation to be added to course grades for greater accuracy (i.e., A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, etc.).
When applying to college, you may be asked to convert your high school grades to a 4.0 scale. Use the following chart to help you determine where you stand and how to convert your current grades.
