Strike system: If you fail to turn in your grades, sign up/attend events, attend sessions, or do anything that breaches your contact, you will receive a strike. After 3 strikes, you will be removed and will not be able to return to the program. If it comes to that, you are granted an appeal process and have one week from the day you received your removal letter to advocate for your membership status. If there is something wrong where you cannot turn in your grades, attend events, or abide by your contract, you must advocate for yourself before removal. ❌❌❌

Welcome!
I am a first-generation student who received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Las Vegas- Nevada in 2022. My degree is split between Sociology and Business Administration where I hope to continue my education in law school. My end goal is to increase the percentage of Latina women who are lawyers and focus on helping those who need it the most. As a woman with a diverse background, I have learned that nothing is given and everything is earned. I have overcome the stereotypes society places on us and I only hope to use my knowledge and experiences to help the future leaders of the world. Being a Cohort 4 member myself, I am proud to be part of the success story that LIT strives to create. Being in LIT has only increased my passion for giving back to the community and pushing the next generations to do even better than I did. Joining LIT has shown me that opportunities are endless as long as you work hard enough.
My commitment to you:
This is my 2nd year as a Program Manager, and I thank all of you for everything I have learned. I am so excited to get to know all of you in more depth! I can't wait to watch all of you grow and become the best leader possible! I am here to support you in any way I can during your time here. I will always be your biggest cheerleader.
Regular communication: SLACK is always first.

Good Member Standing Reminder: The only way to lose your LIT membership
Attendance: Communication and accountability is an expectation as part of your participation in LIT. Add all program dates and times to your calendar (located here). If you will miss a session or event, contact your Program Manager ASAP and arrange a make-up session or event. LIT is aware of emergencies, illnesses, or pressing personal business that cannot be scheduled outside session times. If the student is unable to report to session, or if the student will arrive late, please contact the Program Manager immediately. If the student knows in advance that they will need to be absent, please communicate with your Program Manager. If a student is unable to call in because of an illness, emergency or for some other reason, be sure to have your parent communicate with the program manager. Unless in the case of an emergency and you inform your Program Manager with less than 24 hours notice, you must arrange 2 make-up sessions or events within the month you missed. If you no call no show, you must arrange to attend study hall to complete make-up assignments within the week you missed and 2 no-calls no shows within a semester is automatic removal from the program.
For students, serious infractions such as violence or direct defiance of a specific direction or expectation that could cause harm to self or others will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and could result in automatic dismissal. LIT is not a school, we are a free after school program that empowers the next-generation of community leaders. We choose to be here and you choose to be here. If LIT culture or program does not work for you, you may leave at any time.
