No. Elective Pathway courses will run based on student demand, teacher allocations, and timetabling.
Students will be asked to choose 4 elective courses and 4 reserve elective courses. In most instances, if a student does not receive their preferences they will receive a reserve choice.
No. The timing of your choices will not impact the course you are timetabled to (unless you submit the form after the deadline).
Yes. You can choose both courses offered in a faculty area but you can not choose the same Elective Pathway course twice.
No. Our teaching staff is not finalised until the very end of the year.
There will be elective fees for some courses, and these will be communicated in Term 4.
You will be assessed on a specific dimension of a Global Competency and on outcomes drawn from the NSW syllables.
We recommend selecting courses that genuinely interest you. There are no prerequisites for Year 11 subjects, other than languages. If an Elective Pathway course aligns with a Year 11 subject you’re considering, it can be a great way to explore your interest in that area before committing.
Yes. The work expectations are the same as other courses.
Some Elective Pathways Courses may require you to bring additional materials and this will be communicated in Term 4.
Yes.
Elective Pathways Courses will be included in both semester reports. As these are not NESA Courses, they will not receive a Common Grade. Instead, reports will reflect the specific Global Competencies and NSW syllabus outcomes achieved, along with commitment to learning descriptors.
As each course only runs for a semester, the ability to change courses will be very limited. It is crucial that you make the right choice for yourself in the first instance.
