They may have purchased this PPE in earlier years, or they are available at the student reception. Other costs may arise throughout the course. These will be billed and paid for via a Compass event.
This unit introduces students to the principles of nutrition. You will focus on the development of meal plans and recipes that support athletic performance and overall health. Through hands-on cooking experiences, you will learn to select and prepare ingredients that are rich in essential nutrients and optimised for physical activity.
Topics covered include:
understanding macronutrients and micronutrients
the role of hydration
tailoring meals to meet the demands of specific sports or health goals
study of supplements and their role in supporting a healthy, athletic, strong body
create and analyse a range of healthy recipes, developing skills to craft balanced meals that fuel the body for success.
This course equips you with practical skills and nutritional knowledge that can be used beyond the classroom.
