"Our school was given the opportunity to participate in an Arts Partnership with Matt Ottley, Tina Wilson and Lisa Tiffen this year. This opportunity came through a CSO grant that Ms Ros Kingsford had applied for as part of our school’s writing focus for 2021. The students participated in workshops to write and illustrate a book together. They also assisted in the creation of a video. The creation of this book required the students to not only be creative but to work cooperatively and stretch themselves in their skill set. The finished product "Professor Euko’s Great Adventure" is a credit to the students. It demonstrates that we can all be authors with the right support, encouragement and growth mindset.

As the Principal of St Joseph’s Alstonville I am really grateful to Matt, Tina and Lisa as well as Ros and all the students for sharing their skills with us all. Well done!"

~ Mrs Therese Seymour (Principal)

"This idea stemmed from a casual conversation between myself and Tina Wilson. It was thanks to her encouragement that I applied for the Arts Partnership Grant - if you don't try you'll never know! Thankfully we were successful and the planning could begin. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 many of our plans were kyboshed but we persevered and the final products are amazing. There were many challenges along the way but the students took them in their stride and used their growth mindsets to overcome them. Working with this small group of students showed just how talented they are - their ideas for the story, their creativity in the illustrations and their enthusiasm for the entire experience has been exemplary. To be able to add a book to our school catalogue that was written and illustrated by our students is truly unique". ~ Ms Rosalind Kingsford (Library Manager)
