We used a program called Final Cut Pro to create the animation. Tina and Lisa worked behind the scenes to lay the images. We then worked as a group to determine the layout of each scene. We discussed where the different images should appear, how they could be animated and how the movie could flow. Matt added the sound after the animation was finalised.
Grace, Emma and Fergus were selected as our voices for the characters.
They read through the text and were recorded by Tina.
Grace was our omniscient narrator - the all seeing and all knowing voice that guides the story and helps the reader understand the emotion of the characters. This video shows the process for recording the voices and narration. Outside noises were a problem we had to overcome. The readers had to use strong clear voices and read without mistakes. The voices would be overlaid, by Matt, with the music and soundscape for the final animation.
Tina showed us the basics for using Final Cut Pro for the animation process. We learnt about layers and animation techniques.
A sneak peak of the first part of the animation. The number of steps and fine details in the animation process were amazing.
Trying different voices and tones! "I'm a genius!"
