Panopto and Canvas Studio allow you the option to record video, capture your presentation (such as PowerPoint or Google Slides files), and share this content out with your students through your Canvas course. These tools can be utilized to create videos for students to watch on their own time.
If you want students to learn the material at the same time, then it is recommended that you use Zoom.
The CTL already has resources created on using the tool Panopto that you can find in the open course section. The video will show you how to access this resource. This is a VERY thorough resource that the awesome Al Austelle put together for using Panopto.
This video will provide an overview of Canvas Studio. “Studio” is a video hosting and production tool that is now in Canvas. You can use it to record either a webcam video or screen capture video and easily embed it in your course for students to see.
NOTE: Studio webcam capture is only supported by Chrome and Firefox browsers.
You can also access additional resources provided by Canvas: Canvas Studio Guides
I forgot that I had already created an overview video. However, there may be a few more details provided in this video.
This video will walk you through how to share your Canvas Studio recordings with students.
