The Linn-Mar Band Program has a variety of fun and rewarding musical experiences to offer your child, grades 5 through 12. There are concert bands grades 5-12 and jazz bands from grades 7-12. Your child can participate in public performances, honor bands, trips, solo/ensemble contests, festivals, high school All-State auditions, marching band contests, pep bands and individualized lessons. Now is the time for your child to consider becoming a part of this successful and active part of the Linn-Mar School District!

Recent research supports a multitude of positive academic affects that music has on students of all ages. Participation in a band program offers opportunities for your child to develop: self-confidence, self-discipline, responsibility, music reading skills, higher-order thinking skills, eye-hand coordination, hands-on appreciation of music, precision, teamwork, problem solving, perseverance, organizational skills, a higher level of focus, and yes, IT’S FUN!
