Volunteer Orientation & Onboarding
Introduction
Welcome! We are glad you have decided to join us as a Lindsay volunteer. If you attended a volunteer orientation, visited the Lindsay Volunteer Opportunities website, or have been directed here by a volunteer coordinator, please continue on below through the various onboarding tasks. If you are unfamiliar with the various Lindsay volunteer opportunities, and need general volunteer information and details regarding our various departments, please visit the Lindsay Volunteer Opportunities Website.
Please do not start the volunteer onboarding process unless you were directed to do so by a Volunteer Coordinator.
Step 1: Onboarding Paperwork
Adult Paperwork - All Adult Volunteers, Interns, and Externs in All Departments
Completion of the forms/documents in this section is REQUIRED of all individuals that wish to volunteer with Lindsay Wildlife Experience, for any department in any role/position before the start of any volunteer activities at Lindsay.

If any of your personal profile or emergency contact information changes, please update your profile using the Lindsay Volunteer System.
Are you under the age of 18? Please follow the instructions in the section below.
Under the Age of 18 Paperwork - All Volunteers in All Departments Under the Age of 18

Step 1: Volunteer, Intern, & Extern Application Form (online form)
Please fill out the Volunteer, Intern, & Extern Application Form in full.
If any of your personal profile or emergency contact information changes, please update your profile using the Lindsay Volunteer System.
Step 2: Youth (under age 18) Volunteer Initial Agreement, Waiver, and Release
Please print and fill out the Youth Initial Agreement, Waiver and Release.
Submit your waiver to your volunteer coordinator via email or in person.
Step 2: Health & Safety Policies - All Volunteers, Interns, and Externs in All Departments
Health & Safety Policies to Read and Abide By

This page contains all the current information and documents regarding current Lindsay COVID policies.
Before you can participate in any on-site Lindsay activities, you need to review and abide by "COVID-19 Policies and Procedures", including:
Follow mask policy when in a Lindsay facility according to departmental policy.
Re-evaluate your ability to be present at Lindsay using the current guidelines any time there are symptoms, an illness, or a possible exposure.
Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) Policies (<==This link will take you to the "HPAI Updates" page.)
This page contains all the current information regarding current Lindsay HPAI policies.
You need to review and abide by Lindsay HPAI precautions to participate in any Lindsay activities.
Step 3: Department Specific Volunteer Information
Some Lindsay departments have additional orientation steps, please use the links below (or the navigation bar above) to visit the page for your department for more specific information on volunteer onboarding paperwork relevant to your department.
Step 4: Volunteer Orientation - All Volunteers, Interns, and Externs in All Departments
Scheduled with your volunteer department as determined by your Volunteer Coordinator
Step 5: Volunteer Handbook - All Volunteers, Interns, and Externs in All Departments
As a Lindsay volunteer, you are required to be familiar with, and agree to abide by, the policies outlined in the Volunteer Handbook.
Please read through the volunteer handbook (click on the photo of the volunteer handbook to the right or the link above).
After you read the handbook, print out and sign the Volunteer Agreement, then submit the signed copy to your volunteer coordinator.

(5/26/23)Step 6: After Your Orientation
Once you have filled out your paperwork, received your initial orientation or training, and have decided to commit to a Lindsay volunteer position, please complete the items below.
Lindsay Membership
After your initial 6 months of regular volunteer service with Lindsay Wildlife Experience, you are eligible for a free 1-year Lindsay Wildlife Experience Individual membership.
We encourage you to continue your Lindsay support by renewing your membership after the first year.

Uniform
Some public-facing departments, such as Education or Animal Encounters, require uniforms (Lindsay-logo shirts, vests, or aprons) during your shift.
If you want your own personal uniform, logo shirts, fleeces, or aprons may be purchased through Guest Experience at the front desk following your first shift onsite.
There are also aprons available to be used onsite during your shift without cost.
