In IMPACT, students will be evaluated on 4-3-2-1 Proficiency Scales for each Competency. The competencies were determined based on the Missouri Learning Standards. Subjects will each have a set of Proficiency Scales detailing the content that students must show mastery of to earn credit for the course. See the Sample English Proficiency Scale below.
Students will submit 1-3 pieces of evidence to each proficiency scale in order to demonstrate their mastery. Students will have choice in the types of evidence they submit and through which seminars.
The scores from each piece of evidence will be translated into an overall score for each competency through a decaying average. These averages are then calculated into a final score and entered into the Infinite Campus grade book. See the Competency to Letter Grade Conversion Chart below. Some courses may also enter additional assessments as required by the LHS curriculum (such as Constitution Tests, Final Reflections, FRQs, etc.) The final semester grade will be transcribed in the same way all LHS courses are.
