Cost Savings: Students can save approximately $30,000 USD on their master's degree by spending their first semester studying from their home country (India, in this case) at a lower tuition cost, followed by two semesters on campus in San Diego.
Identical Degree and Faculty: The program offers the exact same MS in Computer Science and Engineering OR MS in Big Data Analytics degree as the traditional on-campus program, taught by the same SDSU faculty. Students enrolled in Global Flex are considered SDSU students from day one, receiving an SDSU ID and email address, and accessing the same learning management system (Canvas).
Three-Semester Completion: The program is structured to allow students to complete their master's degree in three semesters, compared to the typical four semesters for the traditional program.
Simplified Admissions Process: The admission process is streamlined, not requiring letters of recommendation (LOR), statements of purpose (SOP), or English language proficiency tests like TOEFL if the medium of instruction in the undergraduate program was English. A GRE is also not required.
Enhanced College Readiness: Completing the first semester from home allows students to familiarize themselves with the American education system, faculty, assignments, and exams, making their transition to on-campus study smoother and setting them up for academic success.
