Upper-level high school courses taught at LCS and Dual Credit courses provided through a post-secondary college or university are considered Honors Courses. Honors tend to move at a more rigorous and accelerated pace, allowing additional topics can be covered. In addition, reading material, papers and projects may be more challenging and in-depth.
Honors courses currently offered at Liberty include:
Honors Biology II (not dual credit)
Honors Chemistry II (not dual credit)
College Literature (Ivy Tech dual credit)
College Composition (Ivy Tech dual credit)
Additional Dual Credit courses may be taken for Honors credit. These courses may be taken online or at the college campus. More information is available under the "Dual Credit Courses" menu option above.
All Honors courses are weighted in GPA calculations. At the conclusion of each semester, 1 point is added to the cumulative GPA for each A, B or C earned for each Honors course.
