Graduation Requirements

There are four basic graduation requirements for Liberty Christian High School:

1. Fulfillment of academic standards

2. Completion of Biblical Studies courses each year, with a Capstone course during the Senior year

3. Participation in missions and outreach experiences

4. Fulfillment of attendance requirements

In addition to Liberty Christian High School graduation requirements, students must meet the state requirements for the Graduation Pathways: Core40 or Honors Distinction Diploma

The courses listed below are those required for graduation from LCS. These requirements both meet and exceed state requirements.

Core 40 Track

Bible 8 credits

Language Arts 8 credits

Mathematics¹ 6 credits

Natural Sciences 6 credits

Social studies 6 credits

Directed Electives ² 5 credits

Health 1 credit

PE 2 credits

Electives 6 credits

Total Credits 48

¹ The Indiana Core 40 Diploma requires students complete Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry, and a Quantitative Reasoning course.

² Electives must be Fine Arts or Foreign Language class

Honors Track

Bible 8 credits

¹ The Indiana Core 40 Diploma with honors requires students complete Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry, and a 4^th year math class.

² Three years in one language or two years in two languages.

All honors graduates will be designated as Graduation with Academic Distinction by wearing a gold cord/tassel around their shoulders at graduation.

All students must meet state standards for graduation, take the SAT (new Graduating Qualifying Exam) and complete the Graduation Pathways requirements. New students entering LCS must meet these requirements as well. High school level courses taken in middle school will be included on the high school transcript and will be figured into the high school GPA unless the student retakes the course during high school. Starting with the class of 2023, all students will follow the Graduation Pathways requirements. See below for more information on Graduation Pathways.
