Abigail Kasberg is entering her 6th year of teaching, and her 5th year at Santa Rita Middle School. She has led the SRMS Choir program since SRMS opened, she the program has received consistent sweepstakes awards at UIL under her direction.
She grew up in Amarillo, TX where she graduated from Tascosa High School, and she was a member of the Texas All-State Choir during her senior year. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Music Studies with a choral emphasis. During her time at UT, she sang with the UT Concert Chorale, UT Chamber Singers, and the Longhorn Singers, as well as various professional ensembles around Austin. She was also a counselor for the Longhorn Music Camp during her summers in college. Mrs. Kasberg has previously served as the Assistant Music Director at University Christian Church in Austin.
She is currently an active member of Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Choral Directors Association. Outside of school, she also enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her puppy Daisy.
Kayla O'Malley was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 2012 where she started singing in her high school choir. Having quickly fallen in love with singing, she performed with multiple choirs, which fostered a love of music and led her to attend Sam Houston State University (SHSU) where she earned a Bachelor of Music Degree with a concentration in All-level Choral Music.
During her time at SHSU, O'Malley performed with the Chorale, Women's Choir, held several roles in the SHSU Opera, sang with the Baroque Chamber Music Ensemble, and performed abroad in Japan and Italy. O'Malley was also a member the Sam Choral Educators and Sigma Alpha Iota a music fraternity. O'Malley is currently in the process of earning her Master's degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas.
Prior to coming to Liberty Hill ISD, O'Malley served as the Associate Choir Director at Leander High School where her choirs consistently earned Sweepstakes at UIL. Outside of school, O'Malley sings with the Conspirare Artist Citizenship Choral Collective and holds professional associations with the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Choral Director's Association, and Sigma Alpha Iota.
O'Malley is thrilled to join the LRHS & SRMS family, and can't wait to start making music with the Stallion & Wrangler Singers!
