I am excited to have a great year in art! I have been teaching in Liberty Hill for a long time and have over 30 years of teaching experience. I attended Texas Tech University and gained my B.F.A. in Drawing and Painting and Masters of art Education. Art education and teaching art has been my passion. I love working with students of all age groups to inspire their creative gifts! I am a practicing artist when I can find the time and also enjoy working on community wide arts events.

Art curriculum includes the Four basic strands--foundations: observation and perception; creative expression; historical and cultural relevance; and critical evaluation and response-. Students use critical thinking, imagination, and the senses to observe and explore the world by learning about, understanding, and applying the elements of art, principles of design, and expressive qualities. Students will have hands on projects and use problem solving skills in a variety of ways. The visual arts empower students to think outside of the box and obtain an appreciation for art and culture in our world.
LHHS Art classes goal is to give students the skills and opportunity to appreciate the Arts as well as create their own skillful works of Art. A creative inspiring learning environment with high expectations of the student artist. Beyond the Arts knowledge students learn problem solving skills, collaboration and presentation, personal goal setting and reflection and cooperative skills that will help them be successful in a multitude of future careers.
