Liberty Academy Physical Education with Coach Fratacci

Hello everyone and welcome to PE with Coach Fratacci. I have been teaching at LFCS for 7 years and I am starting my 8th year at our school. I have two kids who also attend our school, my daughter is at the JA in 7th grade and my son is in 9th grade at the high school. This year I will be teaching Kindergarten, 1st grade, and second grade PE and I will also be teaching 1st-5th grade music. I love sports and fitness and I love teaching my students new skills and ways to stay healthy and active. In PE this year we will be learning a lot of new skills and practicing some we already know to improve them. I am looking forward to meeting all of the students and learning more about them this school year.

Must Haves For PE Class

Welcome back to school for the 2023/2024 School Year!

Welcome back to school! I am so excited to get started with a fun year of different PE Activities and to help your students improve their motor skills. Throughout the year we will need plenty of parent volunteers for things like mileage club and Olympics. Stay tuned for more information on those things as the year progresses. For information pertaining to PE for your grade level please click one on one of the links below.

Water!

Parents, please remind your students to bring a water bottle to school. The start of the school year always has sunnier and warmer days and we want to make sure your student is staying hydrated during PE.

We Need You!

Mileage club is a wonderful program that we run at our school during recess twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are currently working on getting the program up and running for this year. In order for this to be a success, we need parent help to scan cards. If you are interested in helping please contact me at jamie.fratacci@lfcsinc.org or your classroom teacher.

Did you know that kids, at minimum, should be getting 60 minutes of physical activity on a daily basis? There are many benefits of this from gaining physical strength to building resiliency. It also gives them the opportunity to take risks and develop skills that can only be developed from outdoor play. Kids get physically active naturally when given the opportunity to play outside. I highly encourage you to take your kids outdoors and let them explore the world around them through play and physical activity!

A Little About Coach Fratacci

I was born and raised in the east county area of San Diego and received my B.A. from San Diego State University and later on my teaching credential from there as well. I am married with two children who have both been attending LFCS since kindergarten. They are currently 8th and 6th grade. When you don't see me on campus you can usually find me with my family or playing my clarinet or singing in one of the two musical groups I perform with. I've also been learning ukulele and the banjo. Besides doing music I love attending sporting events and I'm an avid fan of SDSU basketball and football as well as San Diego, Padres and Atlanta, Braves baseball. On the weekends I like to hit up the local trails and I am an avid hiker. I love to travel and visit national parks. What are some of your favorite places to visit?
