Welcome to ELA Honors!

Honors ELA

Honors ELA is designed to challenge students through deeper thinking, more complex texts, and meaningful writing opportunities. Students will strengthen their critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills while exploring how authors develop ideas and support arguments with evidence.

Students will read a variety of challenging texts, write for different purposes and audiences, and build vocabulary through word analysis, including Greek and Latin roots. Students will also be expected to complete homework that reinforces and extends classroom learning.

Our goal is to challenge students, encourage curiosity, and help them become confident, thoughtful readers and writers while preparing them for the SC READY reading and writing assessments.
