Conserve: Reduce

This year, we plan to incorporate the Share Table in our cafeteria to further incorporate the idea of reducing food waste and addressing food insecurities in our own community. Students will learn about the importance of reducing food waste as well as how they individually can help reduce the waste produced at IMS.

Students will set up a share table in our cafeteria and educate the school population about how to use the share table. Students in our after school program may take any food from the table at the end of the school day. Students will coordinate with our school social worker to donate any items left at the end of the day to our school's food pantry and/or a local homeless shelter.

Students will teach other students and teachers in our school about how to use the share table appropriately. Students will raise awareness about the share table at through literature distributed at our spring plant sale.
