I am excited for an amazing 2022-23 school year. We will start the year discussing the history of healthcare, communications and employability traits. Two big rules in my class are safety and no cell phones. All students must pass the district AND class safety quiz with a 100. If a student does not pass the safety quiz they may retake it during academic assistance time (Tuesdays at the beginning of lunch). If a student does not wear the proper attire or obey the safety rules they will sit in the hall with an alternate assignment on lab days. In preparation for clinicals their senior year and the healthcare field, students are not allowed to have their cellphones during class. I will give one reminder to put the phone away, after the reminder it is an automatic MBI. I have attached the syllabus for further explanation of the class rules and grading policy.

Health Science students are encouraged to join the HOSA Future Healthcare Professionals club. This is a student led club for those interested in healthcare. Students will meet at least once a month for guest speakers, service projects, career exploration and more. Students also have an opportunity for scholarships and to compete against others in the state.
