FIRST: Find a seat, but try to sit with someone different, who you didn't sit with last class. Just to make new friends. Please don't move chairs or desks.
**If you want a conference to talk about your lit journey or to talk about college essays, write your name on the board, and I'll get to you during reading time today.
Get out your novel (or short story--or even the story due next class) to begin reading. If you don't have a novel yet, you can try to find one in the back or I can help you. You could also pick up the short story "The White Quail" from the red table and begin reading. (2:00-2:20)
A poem "The Leash"! (2:20-2:30)
What is complexity? (2:30-2:40)
Remember that what makes a character complex is the "gray area" that is multiple ideas embodied into one. That is complexity. Complexity can't be a clear thing or it is no longer complex.
Discuss "A&P" (2:40-3:00)
Write a thesis (graded on Google Classroom!) (3:00-3:15)
Exam overview and notes here (3:15-3:30)
