NAVY JROTC FACT SHEET
-NJROTC is a leadership development program
-Our students do NOT have to join the military if they take our class, and we do not push them to join…that’s not our job
-Our purpose is to help today’s youth meet life’s challenges, regardless of what career they choose after high school
-NJROTC offers Cadets a sense of pride, family, and belonging, which can be a crucial lifeline for a new 9th grader coming into high school
-Starting their Junior year, Cadets are eligible to take NJROTC Honors classes if they are in leadership positions
-NJROTC Cadets have increased opportunities for scholarships and college admissions
-Chapin NJROTC serves over 2,000 community service hours each year; this teaches valuable lessons in citizenship, and looks great on college applications
-We offer hands-on leadership opportunities during class and through our extracurricular teams.
-Through the course curriculum, unit activities, and a multitude of field trips, we offer a broad range of learning experiences to help create well-rounded students
-As a part of the Chapin High School family, we partner with the sports teams, the Band, ALA, and the CATE Center to ensure that our students can participate in all of these other programs and activities while still benefiting from being a part of the JROTC program
