While Art 6 took some time on a brain break, Art 7 planned for their organic/nature-inspired sculptures, and Art 8 created full-scale compositions with their shoe sketches from Week 7. Next week is a big "build" week for each class as we explore 3D design :) Stay tuned!
In Week 7, Art 6 artists went on photo scavenger hunts, and Art 7 started their preliminary work for a Sculpture project, in thinking about an every day object from their homes. Art 8 students created simple contour sketches of a shoe from their home to launch a final mega-project to end the year!
In week 6, we all wrote letters of gratitude to essential workers. Here are just a few of the awesome appreciations that Diamond artists created this week! (again, apologies for some formatting issues that cropped a few of the pieces)
Art 6 explored the world of atmospheric landscapes, Art 7 pushed their artistic prowess with some detailed observational drawing and creative color/value scale work, and Art 8 engaged in a special "Brain Break" week inspired by the PBS series "The Art Assignment!" Lots of interesting work going on this week, way to go Diamond artists!!
While Art 6 and 7 explored more application of color theory and using color to communicate a "vibe," as well as evaluating various color theory-based resources, Art 8 students rounded out their portraiture unit with some non-traditional studies.
Art 6 and 7 continued Color Study by analyzing and applying color relationships to various activities! Art 8 students created artist study journal pages, based on three contemporary portrait-artists. Well done, Diamond!!
Art 6 and 7 dug into Color Theory, while Art 8 stepped into the world of portraiture. Enjoy some of the students' work! Keep checking back...I'll continue to add over the course of this week :)
How are you feeling? What have you been up to? What is life like for you these days? Represent with a visual creation (drawing, photo, assemblage, collage, etc).
Hey there artists; if you are like me, you need to write things down to make sure that you don't forget anything!
In these last few weeks, I've been using this weekly bullet journal printable to help me create a schedule for each day. As you know I am in grad school AND have two little ones, so keeping track of all of the "to-dos" in our house can feel like a lot. Here's what I do: I put times (9am, 2:30pm, etc) on the left side and what I am going to do (Read Chapter 4, Finish Online Research, etc) at those times on the right. I do this on Sunday night as a way to get ready for the upcoming week.
I thought this might be helpful for you too. Email me if you'd like me to send you a copy as an attachment! (You can also just search "weekly planner printable" online to find all kinds of different styles).
