Below is a brief description of the current LPS COVID-19 testing program. See also LPS COVID-19 Testing Program Overview for more information.
Weekly COVID-19 Pooled Testing: involves collecting and performing a PCR test on a group of samples for routine testing. For efficiency and similar to our program last year, any necessary followup individual testing would happen on the same individual samples already sent to the lab. LPS students and staff receive their test kits each week on Tuesday and return samples on Wednesday.
At-Home Rapid Testing Program: If staff or LPS families opt their child into the program, every two weeks they will receive an iHealth at-home rapid test kit. Each kit contains two individual tests. You will administer one test each week either on Monday evenings or Tuesday mornings, whichever fits better into you/your child’s routine. If staff or an LPS student test positive on an at-home antigen test, you must report the POSITIVE result using the following forms by 9:00 AM on Tuesday mornings.
Families and staff should also follow school/district procedures for reporting absences.
Please note for students and staff to participate in any aspects of our testing program, we must have a signed consent on file before any testing can occur.
