2022-2023 Point Opportunities:
Monthly Chapter Meetings (1 point/meeting): Attend monthly meeting. Required 4 per year
Service Hours (1 point/hour, 10 max): Required 4 hours.
SNHS Officer (2 points/semester): Be elected by the student and contribute to furthering scientific endeavors for SNHS
Science Clubs (1 point/club): HOSA, Science Team, Quiz Bowl, Robotics, etc
SNHS Project (1 point/semester): Participate in the organized SNHS chapter event
Science Internship/Shadow Experience (2 points): Participate in a science shadowing experience (medical, research, environmental, etc)
Induction Ceremony (2 points): Mandatory new members, optional returning members
Mini Science Fair (3 points): Conduct an experiment with a high-school degree of difficulty (proposals will need to be sent in and approved by the officers). Take 3 pictures of results and write a short 1-page double-spaced lab report sharing your findings
Science in Nature (1 point/occurrence, 3 Max): Go Outside, take a picture of a natural occurrence, and explain a scientific fun fact to go with it.
Science Book (1 point/book, 3 Max): Read a science-related book (must be approved by the officers) and write a SHORT one page double-spaced review. Include a favorite chapter or passage and why. 3 points
Science Documentary (1 point/documentary, 3 Max): Watch a documentary or read a scientific article/paper about a new innovation or topic of interest. Explain its significance, its relation to current events, or how the innovation/knowledge could be used to further science.
Winning SNHS Games (1 point/game won): Participate and win in one of the activities at the end of each SNHS meeting
