The Science National Honor Society (SNHS) was established in 2000 to offer talented students awards for achievement, encourage a pursuit in the study of science, engineering, and mathematics in college, and provide new, innovative, and unique programs to enhance skills. It also provides opportunities for students to better understand the importance of integrity, creativity, and leadership in the modern world of scientific research, business, and academia. Objectives of the SNHS include encouraging participation in and recognition of scientific and intellectual thought, advancing student knowledge of classical and modern science, communicating with the scientific community, aiding the civic community with its comprehension of science, and encouraging students to participate in community service.
