Jr. High

Jr. High students have a good start to the year. They are currently working on their second STEAM challenge, re-creating a scene from a classic horror novel or movie (teacher selected). They have certain requirements for characters, walls, and including at least 1 simple machine, then they get extra points for other features they might want to include such as doors/windows, stairs/second story, fireplace, etc. They will also get bonus points if their scene is chosen (by other Soar students in other grades) as the most creative or artistic.  There are 3 teams of students that are competing in the MO Stock Market Game. There are also several research teams working on topics that they chose. Several students are also doing logic puzzles each week, which are optional.
