This half term we have been looking at Superheroes and emergency services (real life superheroes). The children have loved this topic. We have loved reading superworm, superkid and supertato along with lots of non-fiction stories about emergency serivces. We are looking forward to a visit from the police and firefighters. Robins have settled well back into school life since the holidays, and have been working very hard. We have been exploring many things such as freezing and melting, Lunar New Year, Sewing, painting and printing, making maps and much more.
In English we have been working on our reading and writing skills. We have started using tales toolkit to explore storied and retell them by changing the problem and solution in the story. The children have started to order and write their own sentences. They have learnt many new sounds during our phonics lessons. Robins have even explored their own independent writing tasks. We enjoy the daily name writing task and daily writing opportunities in phonics. I am so impressed with how their writing is coming along. Well done Robins.
