What a whirlwind of events we've experienced over the last fortnight! The children were captivated by the array of historical artefacts, including candlesticks, medals, coins and a tea caddy, brought to school by the Worshipful Company of Art Scholars as part of their Treasure Chest Challenge. They also enjoyed making scrumptious Singapore noodles as part of the Grow Cook Enjoy project. Then, they certainly tucked in with gusto! Our trip to the beautiful Buddhapadipa Temple in Wimbledon was a tremendous success. The children behaved impeccably and a delighted monk posed for several photographs with them! At the GameChanger Workshop, the children asked insightful questions and participated enthusiastically. Everyone enjoyed Sports Day, not to mention the reviving ice lolly that followed. It was lovely to see every child taking part to earn points for their house. After hours of patient rehearsing, we hope that you were suitably entertained by our production of Pirates of the Curry Bean. To see the children's confidence grow and make their role their own has been so gratifying.
At long last, we are about to embark on our much anticipated residential to the Isle of Wight! Tapnell Farm is a new destination for most of us and we're excited for the adventures that await us. Please do pay close attention to the packing list and take note of the weather forecast too. We will be outdoors for the most part and plentiful sun protection will be essential, with warm layers needed for the evenings.
Finally, thank you for your support and cooperation over this last year. It is much appreciated. We wish all of the children a relaxing and safe summer, as they look forward to starting afresh at their senior schools. What a super year group they have been!
With best wishes,
Ms MacFarlane, Ms Clemson and Mrs Povey
