Well it has been a short but busy half term. With lots of successes.
We have been incredibly busy over the past couple of weeks with our children having some fantastic visits and trips. Our Year 6 pupils experienced what life was like in London during the Second World War during a WW2 experience. We also had a wonderful day completing fun maths activities for NSPCC Number Day. We also looked at how we can keep ourselves safe while we are online for Internet Safety day.
Well done to all children who are in Red House, who earned 507 house points this half term and therefore a mufti day today. Great job!
We have also been to a range of sporting activities. See the sporting page for further information on these.
After half term, we continue with a range of exciting trips and workshops. Some of our Year 5 pupils will also be attending the Year 5 residential to Devon with other Year 5 children from the LEO Academy Trust.
This term we have also had a very successful Challenge Partners Review. Please click here to view the report.
SAVE THE DATE!
Parent consultation meetings will be held on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th March.
Further information after half term.
This term we are very sad to be saying goodbye to several members of staff.
We would like to wish Mrs Griffith, one of our office administrators, good luck in her new role at Cheam Park Farm. She has been a great asset to the school and will be missed. We are pleased to inform you Mrs Green will be joining our office team two days a week.
Mrs Lennard, one of our EYFS teaching assistant is leaving us to concentrate on her family. We wish her all the best for the future.
We are also sad to say goodbye to Miss Mitchell, who has been covering Mrs Walker (nee Saxby's) maternity leave. We wish her all the best and hope to see her again in the future.
We’re thrilled to let you know Sora Ebooks will be offering their first ever UK Children’s ‘Together We Read’ programme from 17th February – 3rd March.
The ebook and audiobook of ‘Montgomery Bonbon: Mystery at the Manor’ by Alasdair Beckett-King will both be freely available on Sora for simultaneous use.
Bonnie Montgomery (as her case-cracking alter-ego Montgomery Bonbon) has been tasked with delivering a priceless diamond to Adderstone Manor, the home of retired master thief Fergus Croke. The plot thickens faster than a good roux when Croke is found dead hours later, and every one of his four protégés is suspected of the dirty deed. But when everyone is a crook, how does even the great Bonbon know where to begin?
Well done to some of our Key Stage 2 pupils who have been attending horse care sessions at The Diamond Riding Centre. They have all done incredibly well and have been awarded their Level 1 in Horse Care. Great job!
Golden Raffle Ticket Mini Golf Trip
Well done to ALL children who have been awarded a Golden Raffle ticket this half term. On Monday 10th February, our lucky raffle ticket winners enjoyed a round of mini golf at Horton's Mini Golf. They had a fantastic time.
Internet Safety Day
On Tuesday 11th February it was Internet Safety Day. Each Year Group learnt about how they can stay safe online. Our older years groups learnt how to avoid online scams.
NSPCC Number Day
We had a great day on Friday 7th February dressing up in number-themed costumes. We completed lots of number activities while raising money for the NSPCC. Thank you to everyone who supported we raised £176 for the NSPCC.
BOARD GAMES & BOOKS
We are currently converting the hut in the playground to a quiet area. This will include having one area as a library area and the other as a colouring in/board game area. This will be a peaceful zone which all children can access during lunchtimes.
We are therefore asking that if you have any board games or books which you no longer require, please could you donate them to us so we can stock our library!
To make the area even more cosy, if you have any beanbags, cushions or blankets you no longer require, please donate them too.
Thank you for your support.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS WANTED
We are reaching out to ask for your valuable support in our classrooms. We are looking for parent volunteers to assist with various activities, such as hearing readers, supporting with creative projects. Your involvement can make a significant difference in enriching our students' learning experiences. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the school office or your child's teacher to discuss how you can get involved. We appreciate your willingness to contribute to our school community!

We would be most grateful if you could supply a box of tissues for your child's class, if you are able to.
We would be very grateful for any donations of age 3/4 uniform, underwear and plimsolls for early years.
Thank you for your cooperation.

We thank you for your cooperation with this.
If you have moved address, it is imperative that you inform the school office as soon as you have moved. It is a requirement that the school has up to date details particularly in case of an emergency.
Please email the school office bfoffice@leoacademytrust.co.uk if your details need updating. Alternatively you can update them using the Arbor App.
Ensuring the safety of our pupils is our top priority. This includes maintaining a smooth and safe environment for pick-up and drop-off times.
The school has never, and will never, advise parking in a way that obstructs residents' driveways on Ridge Road, or anywhere else in the neighborhood. We understand the convenience of pulling right up, but it's crucial to park legally and considerately.
We kindly ask all parents and guardians to be mindful of the following during pick-up and drop-off:
Park safely and with due care.
Respect our neighbours and local residents. This includes not parking across driveways at any time.
If parking is limited, consider carpooling or using alternative transportation options when possible.
To further ensure safety and a smooth flow of traffic, we've requested additional police patrols during pick-up and drop-off times.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school community safe and considerate of our neighbours.
The school uniform policy contributes to a positive and inclusive learning environment. We rely on parents' and guardians' support in ensuring their children wear the correct uniform.

***Please note from Monday 4th November 2024, through till Monday 28th April 2025, School Wear Incs delivery schedule will change to a fortnightly basis. This adjustment is part of their commitment to lowering carbon emissions and making a positive impact on the environment.
Thank you for your support.
If your child is unwell or going to be off school please complete the School Absence Form by 9:15am, at the latest, on the day of your child's absence and any subsequent days.
Please submit a form for each child that is absent.
Can we please remind you that if your child has been sick/vomiting then they must stay off school until 24 hours after their last bout of sickness. If your child has diarrhoea, or sickness and diarrhoea together, then they must not return to school until 48 hours after their symptoms have gone.
Please refer to our 'my child is unwell' document for more information on when your child should return to school.
If your child has an illness that requires them to take medication during school hours (e.g. antibiotics, cough medicine, creams etc.), you must fill in a Medicine Permission form. This can be found on our website under the Parents tab. Hard copies are also available on the carousel in the school office reception area.
This form, and the medication, must be brought to the school office on the morning that the medication is due to start. The school office staff will administer the medication at the times stated on the form by the parent/carer. You can collect the medication at the end of the school day, or at the end of the illness.
Please do not send any medicine into class with your child, this includes sore throat lozenges.
If we do not have a Medical Permission form, we will not be able to administer medication to your child.
