Violin Ensemble

Participation Requirements

Previous participation in violin 

OR 

5th grade (20 district violins available to 5th grade students on a first come, first-served basis) 

Practice

Every Tuesday and Thursday, 3-4 pm

Practices start the week of January 20.

Only 5th graders who participated in violin in fall can join this spring.

Dismissal procedure

Between 3:55 and 4:00, children can be signed out at the music room door. Please park in a parking spot in the rear parking lot and walk to the music room entrance. You must hold up your parent pick-up sign. I’ll read your name and dismiss your child directly to you.

 Please note that more than one late pick-up (after 4:00) will result in removal from the program. 

Instrument Acquisition

 The first twenty 5th grade violin students to sign up will receive a LCSD violin to borrow for the duration of the program. All other students must supply their own instrument. I recommend renting an instrument from Cadence Music in Fort Myers. Below/attached are helpful links. While there is a monthly fee, renting is a good way to play a high quality instrument without making the costly investment of purchasing a high quality instrument.
