BEFORE-SCHOOL CLUBS
Choir
Children will learn and practice healthy vocal technique and foster a passion for music. No fee, audition or prior experience is needed to join - only a positive attitude and a love of music and singing!
Open to 4th and 5th graders
Practice is every WEDNESDAY from 7:45-8:25 in the music room
Drop-off procedure for both choir
Children must have their own transportation. Park your car and walk your child to either the side gate entrance or (outside) music room door, which is near the before/after-care drop-off on the left side of the building. Do not drive up to the gate and let your child out of the car, as this creates a traffic jam for before-care. Do not park and let your child walk through the parking lot, as this is a safety hazard.
AFTER-SCHOOLS CLUBS
Violin Ensemble:
Practice is every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 3-4 pm in the music room
Dismissal procedure for strings
Between 3:55 and 4:00, children can be signed out at the music room door. Please park in a parking spot in the rear parking lot and walk to the music room to sign out your child. Please note that more than one late pick-up (after 4:00) will result in removal from the program. If your child is enrolled in the After-Care Program, please indicate on the registration form that you want them to be dismissed to the After-Care Program, where they can be picked up through 6:00.
*Instrument Acquisition: The first twenty 5th grade violin students to sign up will receive a LCSD violin to borrow for the duration of the program. All other students must supply their own instrument. I recommend renting an instrument from Cadence Music in Fort Myers. Below/attached are helpful links. While there is a monthly fee, renting is a good way to play a high quality instrument without making the costly investment of purchasing a high quality instrument.
