LCPS Robot Drone Teams Competition
The Lee High JV and Varsity Robot Drone League Cyber Generals competed this past Saturday at ETSU in the 2021 Dragonfly Challenge. The JV team members are Claira Cox, Jacob Elkins, Mallory Watson, Ella Shell, and Luke Young. The JV team won the 1st Place Engineering Award, which is the team that best demonstrates innovation in design and provides the best evidence of documented engineering practices, 1st Place Professors Award, awarded to the team demonstrating the best STEM outreach that helps promote stem in their communities, and 3rd Place Overall in field competition.
The Varsity team won 4th place overall in field competition and 3rd place overall Champions Award. The quote from the judges describes them perfectly: "We’ve seen these guys all day long – running missions, describing their successful designs and helping others on the STEM path." Those team members are Dathan Ridings, Sean Paul Cope, Wesley Honeycutt, Samuel Dye, and Kirsten Kennedy.
Team mentors are Cindy Nickodam, Tonya Kennedy, and Jerry Robinette.
These students have come so far and have worked hard to learn engineering, coding, cad, and robot design. CONGRATULATIONS!
VSBA Art Contest Winners

Immunizations
All students need to be up to date on their immunizations prior to the first day of school for the 2022-2023 school year. If you are a parent of an upcoming 7th or 12th grader, please know there are immunizations required before school starts. Please check with your child's healthcare provider to ensure that they are up to date prior to the first day of school. The health department is offering free clinics by appointment on May 11, 2022. LCPS Kaleidoscope Fine Arts Festival
The 28th annual Kaleidoscope Fine Arts Festival will be held on Friday, April 8 from 5 - 9 PM at Lee High School. Artwork from grades K-12 will be on display in the cafeteria and on the 3rd floor. This event is free to the public.
