NCWorks NextGen provides employment and education services to youth and young adults ages 14-24 in Lee County depending on eligibility requirements through the WIOA. We assist youth by providing opportunities to obtain GED, occupational training, Employment opportunities such as Work Experience (WEX), On the Job Training (OJT), supportive services and work-based learning in order for participants to achieve their desired career pathway.

We provide a variety of supportive services to youth enrolled in our program to help them obtain employment and meet these goals. These can include the following:

-Referral to community services

-Assistance with transportation

-Assistance with childcare & dependent care

-Assistance with housing

-Needs-related payments

-Assistance with educational testing

-Accommodations for youth with disabilities

-Referrals to health care

-Assistance with books, fees, school supplies etc. for youth enrolled in postsecondary education classes

-Payments and fees for employment and training related applications, tests and certifications

Eligibility:

In-school youth must be aged 14-21, attending school, low income, and meet one or more additional conditions, which could include: Basic skills deficient; English language learner; an offender; homeless, runaway, in foster care or aged out of the foster care system; pregnant or parenting; an individual with a disability; person who requires additional assistance to enter or complete an educational program or to secure and hold employment.
